This module will cover how to calculate averages from a set of data. It is really important that you find a way to remember which one is which - they tend to be simple to calculate as long as we can select the right option!
A histogram is a way of presenting data based on how densely populated the interval is. There is only one formula we can use here to go from a table to a histogram, or back the other way.
In this video we will show you the most common mistakes with frequency polygons and how to avoid them - these can be a really valuable few marks in your GCSE's!
A pie chart is a way of representing data that shows what proportion of people are in each section. We need to remember that a full circle has 360 degrees.
In this module we will be asked to find averages based on grouped data. The averages are the same as discussed earlier however there are some slightly different ways to calculate these.
When working with the mean we need to use the sum or the totals. If we set this out in a table it can be easier to see what information we have and how it links to the main question.
The following worksheet will revisit all of the skills you have practiced throughout this block. This is a good chance to see where your statistics work is at and to get feedback on what may be worth recapping! Try and answer each question to the best of your ability, and if you need reminding you can watch the videos above. Good luck!
