Forming expressions is an important step to change word problems so that we can solve them.

Here we will show you the process of grouping together terms that are the same when we are asked to simplify.

Expanding brackets involves multiplying all of the inside terms by the term on the outside.

In this video we will show you how to factorise. This means put into brackets, and is the exact oppposite of the expanding work we have just done.

To expand double brackets we will teach you the FOIL acronym. This is a good way to make sure we get every term and dont miss any marks!

The word solve means we need to get the letter on its own. Here we will practice solving one and two step equations.

In this video we will discuss three step equations. After our first step we will be working in the exact same way as we did in the previous module.

Harder equations may involve fractions and brackets. The idea is the same as before but we may need to move things in a slightly different way.

Here we will show you how to solve inequalities. We use the exact same skills we have practiced with equations however our answers will look slightly different.

The following worksheet will revisit all of the skills you have practiced throughout this block. This is a good chance to see where your algebra is at and to get feedback on what may be worth recapping!
